How to read the table

The table lists every broker we cover whose platforms include MT5, with its maximum leverage and minimum deposit, so you can narrow the choice by those two first.

Choosing an MT5 broker

  1. Per-account support: platforms can differ by account. XS.com says its Cent account is available on MT5.
  2. Own apps: XM, Exness, Vantage, HFM, XS.com and FXGT have their own apps; Titan FX offers WebTrader; AXIORY adds cTrader and easyMarkets TradingView.
  3. EAs: if you’ll automate, choose a broker whose terms allow it (EA brokers).
  4. Withdrawals first: the platform matters less than getting paid. Test small first (scam check).

Getting started: MT5 guide; charting with TradingView. MT5 runs on Windows, macOS, iOS and Android, so you can keep the same account on desktop and phone.

MetaQuotes’ own comparison lists the practical gains: 21 timeframes against MT4’s 9, 44 analytical objects against 23, a built-in economic calendar and market depth, and multi-currency strategy testing for EAs. The catch is compatibility: MT4 expert advisors and indicators don’t run on MT5 without an MT5 version. Our MT4 vs MT5 guide goes through both.

Frequently asked questions

Should I use MT4 or MT5?

MT5 is the default for new traders. Choose MT4 only if an EA or indicator you need is MT4-only. See [MT4 vs MT5](/en/guides/mt4-vs-mt5/).

Do MT4 EAs work on MT5?

Not directly; you need an MT5 version.

Can I use MT5 on my phone?

Yes. See our [MT5 mobile guide](/en/guides/mt5-mobile/).

Can I use the same login for MT4 and MT5?

Usually not. Brokers issue separate trading accounts for MT4 and MT5, each with its own login and server. To switch, open an additional account on the other platform from your client area.
