To open an XS.com account you register, verify with a proof of identity and a proof of residence, then fund. XS asks for a colour, valid ID (passport, national ID, driving licence or residence permit) and a proof of residence no older than three months (utility bill, bank or credit card statement, rent agreement, residence certificate or bank letter). International clients on xs.com are served by XS Ltd, licensed in Seychelles.
Who you are opening with
XS.com is a brand of XS Group. Its regulation page says XS Ltd, licensed by the Financial Services Authority of Seychelles (SD089), operates www.xs.com for clients in jurisdictions where that is permitted. Other group companies hold licences in Australia, Cyprus, South Africa and elsewhere, but those serve their own regions. See is XS safe?.
XS doesn’t offer its services to residents of jurisdictions such as the USA, Iran and North Korea, and says the website isn’t directed at residents of the EU, Australia or Japan.
Step 1: register
Use the Register button on xs.com. You create a client portal login, then open a trading account inside it, choosing:
- Account type: Standard, Cent, Micro, Pro, Elite (and VIP from $100,000), or a copy-trading account
- Platform: MT4 or MT5 (Cent and Micro are MT5 only)
- Leverage model: account names ending EQ use equity-based dynamic leverage (MT5 only); LT uses lot-based dynamic leverage
- Base currency: USD, EUR or JPY on Standard; USC on Cent; USD on Micro
XS allows up to 10 accounts of the same type. Details: XS account types.
Step 2: verify
From XS’s help centre:
| Document | Accepted | Requirements |
|---|---|---|
| Proof of identity (POI) | Passport, national ID card, driving licence, residence permit | In colour, valid, showing full name, date of birth and issue or expiry date; all four edges visible |
| Proof of residence (POR) | Utility bill (water, electricity, gas, internet), bank statement, rent agreement, credit card statement, residence certificate, bank letter | Full page, showing your full name and residential address; recently issued (XS says no older than three months) |
Both must come from a government body or recognised institution. XS’s help centre also covers documents not in English, proof of residence in someone else’s name and expired documents; check those articles if they apply to you.
Step 3: fund
The Standard, Cent and Micro accounts have no minimum deposit, but methods do: cards from $20, Skrill and Neteller from $15, bank transfer from $300. See XS deposit methods.
Partner codes
XS runs an introducing broker programme, but its public pages don’t explain how to add a partner code after registration. Register through the partner’s link if you have one, and ask support before relying on adding it later.
MT4 and MT5 login
After you open a trading account in the client portal, its number, password and server are shown there and sent by email. In MetaTrader choose File → Login to Trade Account and enter them. Remember that Cent and Micro accounts are MT5-only, and EQ accounts are MT5-only too. Platform choice: MT4 vs MT5.

- Leverage depends on the model and your equity or lot size: XS leverage
