Verdict: flexible accounts and a bonus, with offshore terms

Vantage offers a broad account line-up at a low entry point: Standard STP, Raw ECN and Cent from $50, plus Pro ECN for larger accounts and a Premium Unlimited account for very high leverage. It also runs a deposit bonus paid as credit, though the rate depends on where you live.

Two cautions. The rate and the serving company are only confirmed during your application, not on a single public page. And the international site itself says clients are not guaranteed negative balance protection in the way UK clients are, even though its help centre describes automatic resets of eligible negative balances.

Good for

  • Traders who want ECN pricing from a small deposit
  • Beginners who want a cent account to practise with small sizes
  • Traders who want a deposit bonus and will read its terms

Not for

  • Residents of India, Hong Kong, Singapore, China, Canada or the US (not served)
  • Anyone who needs a guaranteed bonus rate before signing up
  • Traders who need top-tier regulator protection

Company and licence

Vantage’s site footer names VIG Group, authorised by the Mauritius FSC (GB20026165), and Vantage Markets (Pty) Ltd, an FSP regulated by South Africa’s FSCA (51268). Its regulation page says accounts opened through the international site are with Vantage Global Limited, regulated in Vanuatu. A Cyprus company handles payment services only and doesn’t offer trading.

Vantage says it is a Financial Commission member and that VIG Group holds excess-of-loss insurance through Willis Towers Watson of up to USD 1,000,000 per claim, subject to policy terms. These are private arrangements, not a government compensation scheme. Outside South Africa, the client agreement names which Vantage company holds your account. Accounts and costs

Account Minimum deposit Spread from Commission
Standard STP $50 about 1.0–1.1 pips None
Raw ECN $50 0.0 pips From $3.00 per lot per side
Pro ECN $10,000 0.0 pips From $1.50 per lot per side
Cent $50 0.0 pips $0–$3.00

STP and ECN accounts have a 50% margin call and 20% stop-out. A swap-free version is available. See Vantage account types and Vantage spreads.

Leverage. The highest is on Premium Unlimited: unlimited up to $5,000 of equity, then 1:2000 to $30,000, 1:1000 to $100,000 and 1:500 above, with a 0% stop-out. Eligibility needs 10 trades and 3 lots within a year, and leverage is cut temporarily around major news and weekend closes. Vantage doesn’t publish a fixed maximum for standard STP and ECN accounts. Details: Vantage leverage.

Opening an account and platforms

You submit the online application, verify with a proof of identity (passport including the signature page, driving licence, national ID or residence card) and a separate proof of address, then fund. Vantage says approval usually comes within one business day, and the name on your documents must match your registration exactly. You get one profile per person, with several trading accounts inside it. Details: opening a Vantage account.

Trading runs on MT4, MT5 and the Vantage App, and Vantage offers copy trading. EAs are allowed.

Funding and withdrawals

The minimum deposit is 50 units of account currency. Methods vary by region and are shown in the client portal; Vantage supports crypto deposits in USDT (TRC20, ERC20, BEP20), USDC (ERC20), ETH and BTC. Deposits must come from your own verified account.

Vantage says approved withdrawals usually arrive in 1–5 business days. Most methods are free, but international wires cost 20 units of account currency (3,000 JPY) and crypto withdrawals start at 3%. Card deposits are refunded to the card first, up to the deposited amount. See Vantage deposits and Vantage withdrawals.

Bonus

The deposit bonus is credit, not cash: you opt in through the client portal (facial recognition required) and deposit at least $50 into an STP or ECN account. The page title says “up to 50%” while the menu describes a bonus that “doubles your first-time deposit”; the actual rate is set by country of residence through an eligibility checker. Credit can’t be withdrawn, profits can, and any withdrawal or internal transfer removes credit pro rata. Full terms on our Vantage bonus page. We found no public no-deposit bonus.

Risks and open questions

  • Japan and India: Japan’s FSA lists Vantage Global Limited and other Vantage-named companies among warned unregistered overseas firms, and the RBI’s Alert List includes Vantage Markets. Vantage itself says it doesn’t serve India.
  • Bonus rate for your country is shown by the eligibility checker, not as a fixed figure.
  • Serving company outside South Africa isn’t stated per country on public pages; the client agreement names it.
  • Maximum leverage on STP and ECN accounts isn’t published.
  • Negative balance protection: the help centre describes automatic resets for eligible accounts, but the international site says it isn’t guaranteed. Don’t rely on it as a safety net.
  • Per-instrument spreads (USD/JPY, gold, Bitcoin) weren’t confirmed.

Bottom line

Vantage is a reasonable pick if you want ECN or cent accounts from $50 and are happy to check the bonus rate for your country first. If you want no bonus but confirmed 0% stop-out and automatic withdrawals, see Exness vs Vantage; for a bonus-led alternative, see XM vs Vantage or the cent account comparison.
