How to read the table
The table lists the brokers with a raw-spread account; its EUR/USD spread column shows the spread-only account for reference. The raw accounts themselves:
| Broker | ECN account | Typical EUR/USD spread | Commission (round trip) | All-in per lot |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Zero | 0.0 pips | $6 | about $6 | |
| Elite | 0.1 pips | $6 | about $7 | |
| Raw ECN | 0.13 pips | $6 | about $7 | |
| Raw Spread | 0.2 pips | $7 | about $9 | |
| Zero Blade | 0.2 pips | $7 | about $9 | |
| ECN Zero | 0.5 pips | $6 | about $11 | |
| Pro Spread | — | $9 | — |
Spreads are typical figures reported by review sites, not official averages. Titan FX’s Blade goes to 1,000:1 on major FX; FXGT’s ECN Zero needs a $100 minimum balance.
Working out the true cost
- Convert the commission to pips. As a worked example, $7 round turn per standard lot on EUR/USD equals 0.7 pips.
- Add it to the average spread (not the “from” figure).
- Compare with the commission-free account’s spread.
The pip calculator does the conversion; spread basics explains it.
As a rule of thumb, the more you trade, the more an ECN account’s fixed commission pays off. A few trades a month barely shows a difference, while a scalper trading dozens of lots a week can save a meaningful amount. Add up a typical month’s volume and price it both ways before you switch.
Who ECN accounts suit
- Frequent traders: per-trade cost compounds. Titan FX states no restrictions on trading style (scalping brokers).
- EA users: Titan FX describes Zero Blade as suited to EA traders (EA brokers).
- Cost over bonuses: if you want a bonus, start from the bonus comparison instead.

Frequently asked questions
Is an ECN account cheaper than a standard account?
Often, once commission is included, but not always. Add the commission (in pips) to the published average spread and compare with the standard account's spread.
Do ECN accounts get bonuses?
Frequently not. Check the bonus terms for eligible accounts.
Does XM have an ECN account?
No. XM Global's accounts are Standard, Ultra Low and Shares, none of them a raw-spread ECN account. easyMarkets has no ECN account either.
What does 'per side' commission mean?
Per side means it's charged when you open and again when you close. A $3.50 per-side commission is $7 per round trip, which on EUR/USD is 0.7 pips per standard lot. Always convert to round trip before comparing accounts.
