bitcastleFX doesn't say it accepts clients outside Japan, so check eligibility before anything else. On its Japanese site, maximum FX leverage is 3,000:1 on Emperor and 1000:1 on Standard, falling as equity grows: Standard drops to 500:1 above ¥2.5 million and 200:1 above ¥4.5 million; Emperor drops to 2000:1 above ¥200,000. Crypto is fixed at 50:1, oil at 100:1, indices at 200:1 (Standard) or 100:1 (Emperor). Stop-out is 30% on Standard and 20% on Emperor.
Eligibility first
bitcastleFX publishes its FX service only in Japanese, with yen accounts, and doesn’t state that it accepts clients outside Japan. If you live elsewhere, confirm in writing that your country is accepted before you open an account. Japan’s Financial Services Agency warned the operator, bitcastle LLC, in April 2025: is bitcastleFX safe?.
The figures below are from bitcastleFX’s Japanese help centre, read on 31 October 2026.
Maximum leverage by instrument
| Instrument | Standard | Emperor |
|---|---|---|
| FX (USD/JPY, EUR/USD and others) | 1000:1 | 3000:1 |
| Metals (gold, silver) | 1000:1 | 1000:1 |
| Crypto (BTC/USD, ETH/USD and others) | 50:1 fixed | 50:1 fixed |
| Oil (USOIL, UKOIL) | 100:1 fixed | 100:1 fixed |
| Indices (JPN225, NAS100 and others) | 200:1 fixed | 100:1 fixed |
FX pairs not listed in the table default to 1000:1.
Limits by equity
For FX and metals, the maximum falls automatically as equity grows.
Standard
| Equity | Max leverage |
|---|---|
| Up to ¥2.5 million | 1000:1 |
| ¥2.5 – 4.5 million | 500:1 |
| Over ¥4.5 million | 200:1 |
Emperor (FX)
| Equity | Max leverage |
|---|---|
| Up to ¥200,000 | 3000:1 |
| ¥200,000 – 500,000 | 2000:1 |
| ¥500,000 – 3.5 million | 1000:1 |
| ¥3.5 – 4.5 million | 500:1 |
| Over ¥4.5 million | 200:1 |
Emperor metals stay at 1000:1 up to ¥3.5 million, then 500:1 up to ¥4.5 million and 200:1 above. In practice, 3,000:1 only applies to small accounts: a winning run past ¥200,000 cuts it by a third.
Margin example
At USD/JPY 150, one lot (100,000 units) is worth ¥15 million:
- At 1000:1: ¥15,000,000 ÷ 1,000 = ¥15,000 margin
- At 3,000:1: ¥15,000,000 ÷ 3,000 = ¥5,000 margin
- Emperor above ¥200,000 of equity (2000:1): ¥7,500

Stop-out and negative balance
| Account | Margin call | Stop-out |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | 50% | 30% |
| Emperor | 30% | 20% |
bitcastleFX’s help centre says negative balances are reset to zero automatically for all clients. Without a named regulator, that’s the broker’s own policy rather than a supervised rule: negative balance protection explained.
Changing leverage
- Log in and open the dashboard.
- On the FX account, open the “…” menu and choose the leverage change option.
- Pick the new level and confirm.
You can’t change leverage with open positions. Standard ranges from 1:1 to 1000:1 and Emperor from 1:1 to 3,000:1. One help-centre article instead says Japanese nationals get up to 1000:1, so the statements aren’t consistent: check what your account settings actually offer.
In context
Leverage this high multiplies losses as fast as gains; bonus credit and zero-cut don’t change that. Read leverage explained, and compare brokers that publish a licence on the high-leverage comparison. Account differences: bitcastleFX account types. Back to the bitcastleFX review.
