IS6FX Leverage: Maximum Ratio and the Rules That Limit It

Updated 2 November 2026 · Written by Broker Atlas Broker Reviews Desk · Data checked by Broker Atlas Data Desk

Short answer

IS6FX's maximum is 2,000:1 on the 2000x Leverage account, which applies to the first $200,000 of a trade's value and then steps down. The Micro, Standard, EX and Crypto accounts offer 1000:1 below a $20,000 balance, then 500:1, 200:1 and 100:1 as the balance rises; ECN is fixed at 200:1 on FX and 100:1 on metals. Indices and energy are 50–100:1 and stocks 50:1. Stop-out is 20% (ECN 50%), and IS6FX says you can't change your leverage.

Margin needed to open 1 lot: 1:25 $4,400, 1:100 $1,100, 1:500 $220, 1:1,000 $110, 1:2,000 $55
At IS6FX's maximum leverage of 1:2,000, 1 lot of EUR/USD needs about $55 of margin (at 1.10). Leverage changes the margin you need, not the profit or loss per pip.

Maximum leverage by account

From IS6FX’s English account types page and leverage page, read on 2 November 2026:

Account FX and metals Indices and energy Stocks How it’s set
Micro, Standard, EX Up to 1000:1 50–100:1 50:1 By account balance
Crypto Up to 1000:1 (crypto up to 1000:1 by trade size) 50–100:1 50:1 Balance (FX); trade size (crypto)
2000x Leverage Up to 2000:1 n/a n/a By trade size
ECN 200:1 FX, 100:1 metals n/a n/a Fixed

Balance-based tiers (Micro, Standard, EX, Crypto)

Account balance Max leverage (FX, metals)
Under $20,000 1000:1
$20,000 or more 500:1
$50,000 or more 200:1
$100,000 or more 100:1

So with $5,000 in a Standard account, a 1-lot EUR/USD position at 1.10 ($110,000 of notional) needs about $110 of margin at 1000:1. With $60,000 in the account, the same lot needs about $550, because leverage has dropped to 200:1.

Trade-size tiers (2000x account and crypto)

IS6FX says the 2000x Leverage account and crypto trading use dynamic leverage based on the trade amount, and balance-based limits don’t apply:

FX trade value Leverage Metals trade value Leverage
$0 – $200,000 2000:1 $0 – $200,000 2000:1
$200,000 – $800,000 1000:1 $200,000 – $400,000 1000:1
$800,000 – $1,500,000 500:1 $400,000 – $1,000,000 500:1
$1,500,000 – $2,500,000 200:1 $1,000,000 – $2,000,000 200:1
Over $2,500,000 100:1 Over $2,000,000 100:1

Each slice of the trade is margined at its own tier. IS6FX’s worked example: a $300,000 FX trade has its first $200,000 at 2,000:1 ($100) and the remaining $100,000 at 1000:1 ($100), so $200 of margin, an overall 1500:1.

For crypto (BTC, BCH, ETH, XRP, LTC), leverage is 1000:1 up to $5,000 of trade value, then 800:1, 400:1 and 100:1, falling to 20:1 above $100,000.

Margin call, stop-out and negative balance protection

  • Stop-out is a 20% margin level on Micro, Standard, 2000x, EX and Crypto, and 50% on ECN. Check where that leaves your position with the stop-out calculator.
  • On the 2000x and EX accounts, if floating losses exceed your balance the bonus is reset, which can itself trigger the stop-out.
  • Negative balance protection applies to all accounts. If your balance goes negative, IS6FX first offsets it against bonus credit, then resets the balance to zero (processed every two hours, or when you deposit). It won’t process while you still hold positions with a negative balance.

Can you change leverage?

IS6FX’s FAQ says leverage can’t be altered and stays as set for each account type. Its guidelines add that IS6FX may change leverage and other parameters on all client accounts at its discretion, which can affect your margin level and stop-out, and that it isn’t responsible for resulting losses. Plan positions with headroom, not at the maximum.

Putting it in context

2,000:1 lets a $10 deposit open a meaningful position, but a 0.05% move against a fully leveraged trade wipes out the margin. The useful number is your margin level, not the headline leverage.
