XM Withdrawal Guide: Methods, Processing Times and Fees

Updated 30 October 2026 · Written by Broker Atlas Broker Reviews Desk · Data checked by Broker Atlas Data Desk

Short answer

XM Global says withdrawal requests are processed instantly or on the same day, and that bank wires and cards usually take 2–5 business days to arrive. XM charges no withdrawal fee and covers its own bank's charges on international wires of $200 or more. Your account must be verified, money goes back to the deposit source first, and a withdrawal reduces any bonus in proportion.

How long it takes

XM Global’s help centre separates two times:

Stage What XM says
Processing by XM Instant, by its automated back office; you receive the money immediately or the same day the request is executed
Arrival by bank wire, credit or debit card Usually 2–5 business days
Arrival by other methods Not stated per method on public pages; depends on the provider

So a request that XM has executed can still take days to show in your bank because of the payment network. That is normal for wires and cards and is not a sign of a problem.

Fees and minimums

  • No XM fees on deposits or withdrawals.
  • On international bank wires, XM covers all fees imposed by its own bank for transactions of $200 or more (or currency equivalent). Below that, or at your receiving bank, charges may apply. XM notes this policy can change.
  • Exchange rates can apply at XM’s end or at the payment processor. For card transactions the processor sets the rate.
  • Minimum: $5 for any account type, but individual methods can require more.

The order your money goes back in

XM, as a regulated company, says it accepts no third-party payments: you can only deposit from accounts in your name, and withdrawals must go back to the source of the deposit. When you used several methods:

  1. Matching rule. The exact amount deposited by a method (for example your card) is refunded to that same source first.
  2. Additional funds. Any remaining balance, such as profits, can then be withdrawn with a new request by any method available under Funding.

If your withdrawal exceeds what you deposited by card, XM says you can withdraw up to your total available balance to the card via Bank Card Payout, if your card is supported by the relevant payout programmes. An expired card is fine as long as the linked bank account is still open.

Step by step

  1. Make sure your profile is verified. XM says verified accounts can request a withdrawal of the available balance at any time.
  2. Log in to WebTrader or the XM App and open Funding → Withdrawal.
  3. Choose a method (you’ll be steered to your deposit source first, as above) and enter the amount.
  4. Track the request under Funding → Transaction History.

Why XM withdrawals fail or get delayed

These are the causes XM’s own rules point to:

  • Profile not verified. Withdrawals are tied to a verified account.
  • Margin rule with open positions. XM won’t accept a request that would drop your margin level below 150% from Monday 01:00 to Friday 23:50 (GMT+2, DST applies), or below 400% at the weekend. Close or reduce positions first.
  • Wrong destination. Sending to a friend’s or relative’s account isn’t allowed, and deposits must be returned to their source first.
  • Closed bank account. XM asks you to email support@xmglobal.com a bank document confirming the closure, with the account number and date; it then excludes that account from future withdrawals.
  • Bonus surprises. A withdrawal removes your deposit bonus in proportion, which can raise stop-out risk. If the withdrawal is cancelled or rejected, the bonus comes back. See XM bonus rules.

If a request stays pending without explanation, contact support with the transaction reference, and read our withdrawal refusal guide before escalating.

Cancelling a request

You can cancel only while the request is Pending: Funding → Transaction History → Pending Withdrawals → Cancel. Once XM has processed it, it can’t be cancelled.

Offshore context

XM Global holds a Belize FSC licence. That supervision is lighter than in the EU, UK or Australia, and no client-compensation scheme is advertised on its public pages. A smooth withdrawal record is the best evidence you can collect yourself, so a sensible first step is a small deposit and a small withdrawal.
