MYFX Markets offers up to 1,000:1 on FX and precious metals on the Standard account while your margin balance is $7,000 or less (¥700,000). Above that it drops to 500:1, and above $50,000 (¥5,000,000) to 400:1. Pro and Micro start at 500:1. Oil and indices are capped at 100:1 and crypto at 5:1. A margin call warning comes at 90%; below 50% the largest losing positions are closed one by one, and the stop-out level is 20%.
Maximum leverage by product
From MYFX Markets’ margin and leverage page, read on 2 November 2026:
| Product | Max leverage |
|---|---|
| FX | 1000:1 |
| Precious metals | 1000:1 |
| Oil and indices | 100:1 |
| Cryptocurrency | 5:1 |
MYFX explains that the lower of your account leverage and the product maximum applies. So if your account is set to 1000:1, crypto still trades at 5:1; if your account is set to 200:1, FX trades at 200:1.
Leverage by margin balance
MYFX reduces leverage as your margin balance grows:
| Margin balance | Max leverage |
|---|---|
| Up to $7,000 (¥700,000) | 1000:1 |
| Over $7,000, up to $50,000 (¥5,000,000) | 500:1 |
| Over $50,000 | 400:1 |
MYFX says there are no further restrictions beyond these two steps. By account type, the account types page lists Standard up to 1,000:1 (balance up to $7,000) and Pro and Micro up to 500:1 (balance up to $50,000).
Example. With $3,000 in a Standard account, 1 lot of EUR/USD at 1.10 ($110,000) needs about $110 of margin at 1,000:1. With $20,000 in the account, the same lot needs $220 (500:1); above $50,000 it needs $275 (400:1). MYFX’s site has a margin calculator; you can also use our margin calculator.
Margin call and stop-out
MYFX describes three levels:
| Margin level | What happens |
|---|---|
| Below 90% | Margin call: you’re notified that your account no longer has sufficient funds to maintain open positions |
| Below 50% | Positions are closed one at a time, starting with the largest unrealised loss |
| Below 20% | Stop-out |
After partial liquidation, you can keep the remaining positions as long as the margin level stays above 20%. Compared with brokers that close everything at one level, MYFX’s stepped closing can leave some positions open, but it starts at a relatively high 50%. Work out where your levels fall with the stop-out calculator and read margin level explained.
MYFX’s general risk warning says leveraged products “can lead to losses that exceed your initial investment”. Its pages we read don’t describe a negative balance protection policy, so ask support whether one applies before trading at high leverage. Background: negative balance protection explained.
Changing your leverage
MYFX lists two ways:
- In the Client Office, on the Home page, use the menu at the top right of the account in your account list to apply for a change.
- E-mail customer support from your registered e-mail address.
In context
1,000:1 up to $7,000 is generous for small accounts, but crypto at 5:1 and indices at 100:1 are much lower, and leverage halves once your balance passes $7,000. Compare with other brokers on high-leverage brokers and read leverage explained. Back to the MYFX Markets review.
