FXGT Leverage: Maximum Ratio and the Rules That Limit It

Updated 31 October 2026 · Written by Broker Atlas Broker Reviews Desk · Data checked by Broker Atlas Data Desk

Short answer

FXGT uses equity-based leverage. On Optimus, FX majors and minors reach 5,000:1 below $1,000 of equity, after you complete 5 GT lots and 8 closed trades, then step down to 1:50 above $100,000. Standard, Mini, Low Spread and ECN Zero start at 1:1000. New positions get lower caps at weekends (FX 1:200, metals 1:100) and around major news (1:200).

Margin needed to open 1 lot: 1:25 $4,400, 1:100 $1,100, 1:500 $220, 1:1,000 $110, 1:5,000 $22
At FXGT's maximum leverage of 1:5,000, 1 lot of EUR/USD needs about $22 of margin (at 1.10). Leverage changes the margin you need, not the profit or loss per pip.

Stop-out
