XS.com Leverage: Maximum Ratio and the Rules That Limit It

Updated 31 October 2026 · Written by Broker Atlas Broker Reviews Desk · Data checked by Broker Atlas Data Desk

Short answer

XS.com offers dynamic leverage up to 2,000:1 in two models. Equity-based (EQ, MT5): FX majors and minors are 2,000:1 up to $3,000 of equity, then 1:1000, 1:500, 1:400, 1:200 and 1:100 above $100,000; gold is 2,000:1 up to $5,000. Lot-based (LT): FX majors and gold up to 1:2000, cut as your open lots per instrument grow. Stop-out is 20% on Standard (10% on Cent and Micro).

Margin needed to open 1 lot: 1:25 $4,400, 1:100 $1,100, 1:500 $220, 1:1,000 $110, 1:2,000 $55
At XS.com's maximum leverage of 1:2,000, 1 lot of EUR/USD needs about $55 of margin (at 1.10). Leverage changes the margin you need, not the profit or loss per pip.

Two leverage models

XS’s dynamic leverage page offers:

  • EQ (equity-based): leverage falls as account equity grows. MT5 only, all account types. Account names end in “EQ”.
  • LT (lot-based): leverage falls as your net open lots per instrument grow, calculated separately for each symbol. MT4 and MT5, all types except Cent and Micro. Names end in “LT”.

Equity-based (EQ) tiers

Example

1 lot EUR/USD at 1.1000 is $110,000. With $2,000 equity on an EQ account, 2,000:1 means about $55 of margin; once equity passes $100,000 the same trade needs $1,100 at 1:100. Try the margin calculator.

Frequently asked questions

What is XS's maximum leverage?

1:2000, on FX majors, minors (EQ model) and gold, at low equity or small lot sizes.

How does XS equity-based leverage work?

On EQ accounts (MT5 only), leverage falls as your equity rises: for FX, 2,000:1 up to $3,000, 1:1000 to $6,000, 1:500 to $20,000, 1:400 to $40,000, 1:200 to $100,000 and 1:100 above.

How does XS lot-based leverage work?

On LT accounts, leverage is set per instrument by your net open lots: the more lots on one instrument, the lower the leverage. Hedged positions count on a net basis.

What are XS's margin call and stop-out levels?

Margin call 40% on Standard, Cent and Micro; stop-out 20% on Standard and 10% on Cent and Micro.
