Forex Cashback Rebates Explained

Updated 30 October 2026 · Written by Broker Atlas Guides Desk · Data checked by Broker Atlas Data Desk

Short answer

A forex rebate (cashback) returns part of your trading cost for every lot you trade, usually paid by a rebate site out of the commission the broker pays it for referring you. It doesn't change your spreads or the broker's terms. The amount per lot varies by broker, account and site. Check that your broker allows rebates alongside bonuses, and that the site is paying out reliably.

How rebates work

  1. You open an account using a rebate site’s link or partner code.
  2. The broker pays the site a share of the spread or commission on each lot you trade.
  3. The site passes part of that to you as a rebate, per lot.

Your trading conditions are the broker’s. The rebate is a separate agreement between you and the site.

Brokers with their own rebate or loyalty programme

Rebate and points schemes the brokers run themselves. Some can be earned on top of a cashback site’s rebate.

Bonuses as published on each broker's official pages. Terms change by country and over time, so check the broker's site before you sign up. N/A means no published information was found.

Worked example

Suppose a site pays $3 per standard lot on your account and you trade 40 lots a month (about two 1-lot trades a day):

  • Monthly rebate: 40 × $3 = $120
  • If your average cost is 1.5 pips ($15) per lot, you pay $600 a month in spread, and the rebate recovers 20% of it.

Those numbers are illustrative; rates differ by broker, account and site. Run your own in the rebate calculator.

Rebate or bonus?

Rebate Deposit bonus
What you get Cash per lot Trading credit
Withdrawable Usually yes Bonus itself usually not (bonus rules)
Grows with Volume Deposit size
Best for Active traders Small accounts that want extra margin

For high-volume traders a rebate usually beats a one-off bonus. For a small account trading occasionally, the rebate is small.

What to check before signing up

  • Is the broker allowed through the site? The broker must have an active partner relationship with it.
  • Does it conflict with bonuses? Some brokers treat partner-linked accounts differently.
  • Which account types qualify? ECN accounts often earn less per lot because the broker’s own margin is lower.
  • How and when is it paid? Daily, weekly or monthly; to your trading account or to a wallet.
  • The site’s track record. It holds your rebates until paid, so treat it like any counterparty.

Frequently asked questions

Who pays forex cashback?

Normally a rebate site or introducing broker. The broker pays it a share of the spread or commission for referring you, and it passes some back to you.

Does cashback make my spread wider?

Joining through a rebate site shouldn't change your account's published spreads. Check that you're opening the same account type the broker advertises.

Can I get cashback and a bonus together?

Sometimes not. Some brokers exclude accounts linked to a rebate partner from bonuses, or vice versa. Check the bonus terms before you sign up.

Can I add cashback to an existing account?

Usually only by opening a new account through the rebate site's link. Brokers rarely move an existing account to a new partner.
