Best Forex Brokers in Thailand: Compared

Updated 31 October 2026 · Written by Broker Atlas Guides Desk · Data checked by Broker Atlas Data Desk

Short answer

In Thailand, derivatives business is licensed by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC Thailand), which warns that activities with operators it hasn't licensed may not be protected by the laws it enforces, and the Bank of Thailand requires foreign exchange transactions to go through persons licensed under the exchange control law. Of the brokers we cover, Exness indicates it serves Thailand; the others don't name it. None, as far as we found, is licensed in Thailand.

Two authorities matter.

SEC Thailand licenses securities and derivatives business operators. Its warnings follow a consistent line. In an October 2018 public warning, it named a foreign website soliciting Thai investors into contracts for difference on gold, crude oil and stock indices, said it was not a licensed securities or derivatives business operator in Thailand, and warned that activities with such entities may not be protected by the laws enforced by the SEC. It advised investors to check whether a solicitor is legally approved before investing.

The Bank of Thailand (BOT) administers exchange control. Its exchange control page says foreign exchange transactions (purchase, sale, exchange or transfer of foreign currencies) must be conducted with persons granted foreign exchange licences by the Minister of Finance, such as authorised banks and money changers.

What this means for you: offshore brokers not licensed in Thailand sit outside SEC Thailand’s protection, and moving money abroad is subject to exchange control rules. This is a general summary, not legal advice.

How to check a broker

  • SEC licence check: the SEC’s list of licensed entities is under the “License Check” banner on sec.or.th.
  • Investor Alert List: unlicensed business operators are listed under “Investor Alert” on the same site.
  • SEC help centre: call 1207 with tips about suspicious solicitations.

Which brokers we cover accept Thailand

From each broker’s own site, checked 31 October 2026:

Broker What its own site says about Thailand
Exness Services offered: its help centre gives “a Malaysian citizen permanently living in Thailand” as an example of someone it accepts
XM (XM Global) Not stated; its restricted list names the US, Canada, Israel and Iran
Vantage Not stated; it excludes India, Canada, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, the US and FATF-listed jurisdictions
Titan FX Not on its unsupported-countries list
FXGT Not stated (it excludes only EU and UK residents)
XS.com Not stated (it names the USA, Iran and North Korea)
BigBoss Not stated (it names the USA, Iran and Macau, and in principle Malaysia and Japan)
HFM Not stated on its public pages; HFM’s registration form shows whether your country is accepted

Exness’s example also shows a rule worth knowing: it accepts foreign nationals living permanently in a country it serves, with proof of address for that country, but not nationals of a served country living somewhere it doesn’t serve.

Funding in baht

None of the brokers we cover lists a Thailand-specific payment method on the public pages we read. Exness and Vantage show methods by registered region after sign-up. Because the BOT requires foreign exchange transactions to go through licensed persons, check with your bank before transferring funds abroad. See our deposit methods guide.

Offshore vs Thai-licensed

Offshore brokers offer leverage and bonuses that Thai-licensed firms don’t, but you give up SEC Thailand’s protection and rely on an offshore regulator. Read regulated vs offshore brokers and the Exness review before deciding.

Tax

Check the Revenue Department or a tax adviser for how trading income is treated. Our forex tax guide explains the general principle.

Octa and FBS

Two brokers with a large following in Thailand are Octa and FBS. Both offer Thai local deposit methods (FBS lists PromptPay) and Thai-language sites, and neither is licensed by the SEC Thailand. Octa runs spread-only, swap-free accounts under a Comoros (MISA) licence; FBS offers up to 3,000:1 under a Belize licence, and its terms have at times listed Thailand among countries it doesn’t serve. Read is Octa safe? and is FBS safe? before you open an account. Local payment methods are covered in funding in Thai baht.

Bottom line

Thai residents can register with some offshore brokers, Exness included, but those brokers aren’t SEC Thailand licensees, so SEC-enforced protections may not apply. Check the SEC’s licence list and Investor Alert List first.
