Forex Deposit Methods Compared: Card, Bank and Crypto
Cards and e-wallets are usually instant and the easiest way to start; bank wires take longer but suit large amounts; crypto is fast where accepted but carries network risk and no chargeback. Whichever you use, withdrawals generally have to go back the same way, so pick a method you can also withdraw to. Payments must come from an account in your own name.
The main methods compared
| Method | Speed | Typical limits | Withdrawal route | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Debit / credit card | Usually instant | Lower | Card refund up to the deposited amount, profits by another method | Card issuer fees; some banks block broker payments |
| E-wallets (Skrill, Neteller, Sticpay, bitwallet) | Usually instant | Medium | Back to the same wallet | Wallet fees and country restrictions |
| International bank wire | Hours to days | High | Back to the same bank account | Intermediary and receiving bank fees |
| Local bank transfer | Same day to 1 business day | Medium–high | Same bank | Available only in some countries |
| Crypto (e.g. USDT) | Depends on the network | Varies | Back to the same wallet | Wrong network = lost funds; no chargeback |
The speeds above are what brokers typically publish; your own broker’s funding page is the only source that counts for your account.
What three brokers publish
Titan FX
From Titan FX’s funding page, deposits carry no Titan FX fee, and:
| Method | Minimum | Processing |
|---|---|---|
| Skrill / Neteller | $10 (max $5,000 per transaction) | Immediate |
| Sticpay | $30 | Immediate (not for EEA/UK residents) |
| Apple Pay | $1 | Immediate |
| International bank transfer | $50 | Once receipt is confirmed |
| Local Asia bank transfer (ID, IN, TH, VN, MY) | — | Immediate to 1 business day |
| Cryptocurrency | — | Depends on the blockchain; network fees may apply |
Its withdrawal page says withdrawals must be refunded to the account used to fund, bank transfers reach you in 2–3 business days, crypto withdrawals go through an internal review of up to 48 hours, and a 4% fee applies if no trades were made on the account. See the Titan FX review and Titan FX deposits.
AXIORY
AXIORY’s funding methods page lists card deposits (Visa, JCB, UnionPay) as instant with no fee, but prepaid cards aren’t accepted. Bank transfers take 3–10 business days. ThunderX Pay is credited up to 15 minutes after confirmation, and Walletory is instant, though the first Walletory deposit can take up to 24 business hours. More in AXIORY deposits.
Vantage
Vantage’s help centre sets the minimum deposit at 50 units of the account currency (¥5,000 for JPY and HKD 400 for HKD accounts), with the maximum depending on the method. It also spells out the withdrawal order: card deposits are refunded first, up to the amount deposited by card, and the rest goes to your other deposit methods. Its example: deposit $100 by card and $50 by e-wallet, withdraw $120, and $100 goes to the card and $20 to the e-wallet. See Vantage deposits.
Why the deposit method decides your withdrawal
Brokers apply anti-money-laundering rules that send money back to where it came from. In practice:
- Card deposits are refunded to the card up to the amount deposited. Profits above that go by bank transfer or e-wallet.
- E-wallets and crypto usually go back to the same wallet.
- If you mix methods, the broker’s priority order decides what goes where, as in Vantage’s example above.
- If the card has expired, the broker will ask for another route and may want proof the card was yours.
Planning for this before you deposit avoids most withdrawal delays. Read withdrawal problems and why brokers reject withdrawals.
Costs you might not see
- Currency conversion. If you fund a USD account from a euro or pound card, your card issuer or the broker converts at its rate. Funding in your account’s base currency, or opening an account in your own currency where offered, avoids a double conversion.
- Bank wire fees. Sending and intermediary banks can each take a fee, and the receiving bank sometimes does too.
- Network fees. Crypto deposits pay the blockchain’s fee, which varies by network.
- Untraded deposits. Titan FX’s 4% fee on withdrawals from accounts with no trades shows that depositing and withdrawing without trading can cost money. Similar rules exist elsewhere; see inactivity fees.
How to choose
- Can you withdraw to it? A method that works for deposits but not for your country’s withdrawals will cause trouble later.
- What will conversion cost? Fund in your account currency where possible.
- How much are you moving? Wires suit larger sums; e-wallets suit smaller, frequent ones.
- Is it in your name? Always. Third-party payments are refused.
- Start small. A first deposit you can afford to have tied up for a while, followed by a small test withdrawal, tells you how the broker pays in practice. See how to spot a scam broker.

Crypto deposits
Crypto, usually USDT, is popular where cards and banks block broker payments. It’s quick but unforgiving: a wrong network or address can’t be reversed. Read how to fund an account with USDT first.

Frequently asked questions
What is the fastest way to deposit?
Cards, Apple Pay and e-wallets are typically instant. Titan FX, for example, lists Skrill, Neteller, Sticpay, bitwallet and Apple Pay as immediate.
Can I deposit from someone else's card or account?
No. Brokers refuse third-party payments. Titan FX states that all funds must be transferred to and from an account in the name of the trading account holder.
Do brokers charge deposit fees?
Many don't, but your bank, card issuer or the blockchain network may. Currency conversion is the cost people most often miss.
Why can't I withdraw to a different method?
Anti-money-laundering rules require funds to go back to their source, at least up to the amount deposited. Profits above that can often go by another method.
If I used a card and an e-wallet, where does my withdrawal go?
It depends on the broker's order. Vantage, for example, refunds the card first up to the amount deposited with it, then sends the rest to your other deposit methods.
