Verdict

FBS is a high-leverage, low-deposit broker with a big presence in Southeast Asia: 3,000:1 leverage, a $5 minimum, local funding and a simple account line-up. The trade-off is regulation: international clients deal with a Belize company, Japan’s FSA has warned it, and Malaysia’s Securities Commission lists FBS entities as unauthorised.

Good for

  • Traders starting with small deposits who want very high leverage
  • Funding through local methods: PromptPay in Thailand, local banks in Malaysia and Indonesia
  • MT4, MT5 or a simple mobile app

Not for

  • Anyone who needs a top-tier regulator for their own account
  • Residents of Japan or Malaysia, where regulators have issued warnings
  • Traders who want a raw-spread account with commission for new accounts

Accounts and costs

FBS has simplified its line-up: new clients mainly open a Standard account on MT4, MT5 or the FBS app, with no commission and a spread that review sites put at about 1 pips on EUR/USD. Older account types such as Cent, Micro, Zero Spread and ECN appear in older reviews but may not be open to new clients; check the account list in your client area.

Leverage goes up to 3,000:1, and FBS lowers the maximum as your equity grows, so larger accounts trade with less leverage. Swap-free (Islamic) trading is available. Compare with others on high-leverage brokers and swap-free brokers, and size positions with the margin calculator.

Bonus

FBS’s promotions change over time. In the past it ran a 100% deposit bonus and a no-deposit Level Up bonus; what’s on offer now is shown in the client area. See FBS bonus and how bonus rules work.

Deposits and withdrawals

FBS offers local methods across Southeast Asia: PromptPay and bank transfer in Thailand, local banks in Malaysia (Bank Simpanan Nasional and Bank Islam were added), Indonesian banks at a fixed 10,000 IDR per USD, plus USDT and cards. FBS says it doesn’t charge deposit or withdrawal fees. Review sites list e-wallet withdrawals within an hour and bank transfers in 1-5 business days. Details: FBS deposits and FBS withdrawals.

Safety and warnings

FBS offers negative balance protection, with a stop-out level of 20%. The warnings are the key issue: Japan’s FSA lists FBS Markets Inc. among firms warned for unregistered solicitation, and Malaysia’s Securities Commission lists FBS Malaysia and FBS Trading Berhad on its Investor Alert List. Full details: is FBS safe?

Bottom line

FBS is easy to start with: small deposits, very high leverage and local payment methods. Keep in mind that your account sits with a Belize company, and that regulators in Japan and Malaysia have warned against it. If you’re in Southeast Asia, read your country page first: Thailand, Malaysia or Indonesia.
