Is EBC Financial Legit? Licences, Entities and Our Withdrawal Record

Updated 31 October 2026 · Written by Broker Atlas Broker Reviews Desk · Data checked by Broker Atlas Data Desk

Short answer

ebc.com is provided by EBC Financial Group (SVG) LLC, registered in St Vincent and the Grenadines. The group's regulated companies (FCA 927552, CIMA 2038223, ASIC 500991, FSCA 51541, FSC Mauritius GB24203273) protect their own clients, not SVG accounts. For SVG clients EBC offers Financial Commission membership (up to €20,000) and negative balance protection on application, capped at a $999.99 deficit. We have no withdrawal record of our own: we did not open an account.

Zero-cut: negative balance protection: Balance $1,000, Price gap: $1,300 loss. Without protection: Balance −$300: you owe it. With zero-cut: Reset to $0: the broker covers it.
When a fast market jumps past the stop-out and the balance goes negative, a broker with zero-cut writes off the negative amount instead of asking you to pay it.

What the SVG registration does and doesn’t protect

EBC uses the word “authorised” for the SVG company, but cites only a company registration number (353 LLC 2020), not a licence, and names no SVG authority supervising its trading business. In practice, as an ebc.com client:

  • No FCA protection: the UK firm is for professional clients only, so the FSCS (up to £85,000 for eligible clients of UK firms) doesn’t cover you.
  • No statutory compensation scheme and no leverage cap set by a regulator.
  • Financial Commission: the SVG company is a member, giving access to a compensation fund of up to €20,000 per client, subject to its terms. It’s a private dispute body, not a regulator.

Protections EBC describes

  • Negative balance protection, on application: a button appears in the User Centre when your balance is −$0.01 to −$999.99; once per account per hour; not available above $1,000 negative; it “does not provide unlimited protection”. Not automatic.
  • Segregated funds: EBC says client funds are kept separate from company funds. Its UK and Cayman companies hold Barclays corporate accounts; the UK firm follows FCA CASS rules and the Cayman firm CIMA’s SIBA Act.
  • Insurance: D&O and cyber cover of £2 million each (UK and Cayman), PI of AU$2 million (Australia), and over US$25 million a year across subsidiaries from QBE. These protect the companies against claims; they aren’t deposit guarantees.
  • Stop-out at 30% on standard accounts, and temporary leverage cuts around closes and major data: EBC leverage.

Our withdrawal record

We have no withdrawal record of our own: we haven’t opened an account or withdrawn. EBC’s published rules: no fees, same method in and out, usually 1 working day for local bank and crypto. See EBC withdrawals.

What to check yourself

  • That your client agreement names EBC Financial Group (SVG) LLC, the company that runs ebc.com, or another group company and its licence.
  • Where the SVG company’s client money is held, which EBC doesn’t publish.
  • Whether you need negative balance protection to be automatic: at EBC you have to apply for it.

Practical steps

  1. Check the company name in your client agreement.
  2. Keep your deficit risk small: protection stops at $999.99 and must be requested.
  3. Withdraw once early, by the same method you deposited.
  4. Use only EBC’s official channels: it has an official channel verification page, and see our scam check guide.

Frequently asked questions

Is EBC Financial Group regulated?

The group holds licences from the FCA, CIMA, ASIC, FSCA and FSC Mauritius. ebc.com's services are provided by the SVG company, which EBC describes as authorised by the SVG FSA with company registration 353 LLC 2020.

Does the FCA licence protect me if I open an account on ebc.com?

No. EBC says its UK firm serves professional clients only, and the FSCS covers eligible clients of UK-authorised firms. ebc.com accounts are with the SVG company.

Does EBC have negative balance protection?

On application. If your balance is between −$0.01 and −$999.99, a button in the User Centre lets you request a reset to zero, once per hour. Deficits over $1,000 aren't eligible.

Are EBC client funds segregated?

EBC says client funds are segregated from company funds, and that its UK and Cayman companies hold Barclays corporate accounts. We didn't find a bank name for the SVG company's client money.
