Add the commission
Raw Spread and Premium charge commission on FX and metals: $7 and $5 respectively, per the account page. Indices, energies and crypto are commission-free on every account. Whether the commission is per side or round turn isn’t stated there, which matters when you compare totals:
- If $7 is round turn per lot: EUR/USD on Raw Spread costs about 0.4 pips + 0.7 pips = 1.1 pips, below Standard’s 1.6.
- If $7 is per side: it’s 0.4 + 1.4 = 1.8 pips, above Standard.
Ask support or check the commission in MT4/MT5 before choosing. More on this: spread basics.
When spreads widen
M4Markets says its spreads are variable, follow liquidity, and that “during major news, markets can be volatile which leads to wide fluctuations in spreads”. It doesn’t publish hours when spreads usually widen. In general, the daily rollover and the weekly open are low-liquidity times.
