Is FXGT Legit? Licences, Entities and Our Withdrawal Record

Updated 31 October 2026 · Written by Broker Atlas Broker Reviews Desk · Data checked by Broker Atlas Data Desk

Short answer

FXGT's offshore site is run by GT Global Ltd, licensed by the Seychelles FSA (SD019); group companies hold FSCA (South Africa, 48896) and VFSC (Vanuatu, 700601) licences, and an EU company is CySEC-regulated for Europe. FXGT says client funds are segregated in Tier 1 banks, there is negative balance protection, and clients have liability insurance up to €1,000,000. These are offshore protections, not EU or UK ones.

Zero-cut: negative balance protection: Balance $1,000, Price gap: $1,300 loss. Without protection: Balance −$300: you owe it. With zero-cut: Reset to $0: the broker covers it.
When a fast market jumps past the stop-out and the balance goes negative, a broker with zero-cut writes off the negative amount instead of asking you to pay it.

Who you’re dealing with

From FXGT’s security of funds page:

Company Regulator Licence
GT Global Ltd (Seychelles) Seychelles FSA Securities Dealer’s Licence SD019
GT IO Markets (Pty) Ltd (South Africa) FSCA FSP 48896
GT Global Markets Ltd (Vanuatu) VFSC Principal’s Licence 700601

FXGT’s footer also lists CySEC, for its European business; FXGT says the offshore site doesn’t serve EU or UK residents. Our earlier research also recorded a Mauritius licence (GT Markets Capital, GB24203727) on FXGT’s account page, but it wasn’t listed on the security page we read this time. Check which company is named in your client agreement.

What FXGT says about your money

  • Segregation: client funds are kept separate from operational funds in “top-tier” banks and never used for FXGT’s own purposes.
  • Tier 1 banks: not named publicly.
  • Negative balance protection: losses are limited to your deposit; the balance can’t go below zero.
  • Capital: FXGT says it maintains a 40% capital adequacy ratio. That’s FXGT’s own statement; it doesn’t publish audited figures.
  • Liability insurance: up to €1,000,000 in total, covering errors, omissions, negligence and similar risks. It doesn’t cover trading losses.
  • PCI DSS certification for card data security.

What an offshore licence does and doesn’t protect

It does put licensed companies behind the brand, subject to their regulators’ rules.

It doesn’t give EU-style leverage caps or investor compensation. FXGT’s up to 5,000:1 leverage on Optimus exists because the Seychelles company isn’t under EU rules. See offshore vs regulated brokers, Seychelles FSA and Vanuatu VFSC.

What to check yourself

  • The Seychelles FSA register entry for GT Global Ltd (SD019), the company that serves international clients.
  • The names of the banks holding client funds, which FXGT doesn’t publish.
  • Audited accounts behind the 40% capital ratio, which FXGT doesn’t publish either.
