XM vs Titan FX: Which Broker Is Better?

Updated 2 November 2026 · Written by Broker Atlas Comparisons Desk · Data checked by Broker Atlas Data Desk

Short answer

Pick XM if you want a $5 start and a deposit bonus. Pick Titan FX if you scalp, run EAs or trade often enough for its Blade ECN account (raw spreads plus $3.5 per 100k per side) to pay off, or want higher leverage: up to 2000:1 on Zero Micro and 1000:1 on Standard and Blade. Both have negative balance protection and are offshore: XM Global in Belize, Titan FX in Vanuatu.

The short answer

These two brokers suit different people. XM Global is built for starting small: a $5 minimum deposit, a deposit bonus and negative balance protection on every account. Titan FX is built for active trading: no strategy restrictions, an ECN account with commission pricing and higher leverage. If you know which of those describes you, the choice is made.

1. Leverage

XM Global offers up to 1000:1 up to $40,000 of equity, stepping down above that, and says it keeps that level during major news rather than lowering it. Titan FX offers 2000:1 on Zero Micro and 1000:1 on Zero Standard and Zero Blade for major FX, with lower limits on some instruments (500:1, 100:1 or 50:1).

So Titan FX has the higher ceiling, while XM’s no-news-cut policy matters if you hold positions through releases. Either way, size positions with the margin calculator rather than the headline figure.

2. Accounts and costs

XM Global Titan FX
Spread-only account Standard ($5 min), EUR/USD about 1.6 pips Zero Standard, EUR/USD about 1.2 pips
Raw / ECN account None Zero Blade, about 0.2 pips + $7 round trip
Small-account option $5 minimum on Standard Zero Micro, no minimum deposit

Spreads are typical review-site figures, not official averages. On one lot of EUR/USD, that’s about $16 at XM, $12 on Titan FX Standard and $9 on Titan FX Blade. For frequent traders, Titan FX is clearly cheaper. See ECN brokers.

3. Bonus

XM Global offers a 100% deposit bonus. The bonus itself can’t be withdrawn (profits made with it can). Titan FX has no deposit or sign-up bonus. If extra margin matters to you, this decides it. Details: XM bonus, bonus comparison.

4. Licence and protection

XM Global Limited is licensed by the FSC Belize (8557558); Titan FX Limited is registered with the Vanuatu FSC (40313). Both are offshore licences: they confirm the company is registered and supervised, but they don’t bring the leverage caps, client-money rules or compensation schemes of EU, UK or Australian regulators. Both apply negative balance protection, and both stop out at 20%. More in our licence guide.

5. Withdrawals

Titan FX says withdrawals are normally processed within one business day, with bank wires taking 2–3 business days to arrive, and charges 4% if the account has never traded. XM Global processes withdrawals instantly or the same day; bank wires and cards usually arrive in 2–5 business days.

Verdict by trader type

  • First offshore account, small budget: XM
  • Wants a deposit bonus: XM
  • Scalper or EA user: Titan FX
  • High-volume, cost-focused: Titan FX (Blade)
  • Holds positions through news: XM

Frequently asked questions

Which has higher leverage, XM or Titan FX?

Titan FX: 2000:1 on Zero Micro and 1000:1 on Zero Standard and Zero Blade for major FX. XM Global offers up to 1000:1 (falling above $40,000 of equity) and says it doesn't cut leverage during news.

Does Titan FX have a bonus like XM?

No. Titan FX has no deposit or sign-up bonus. XM Global offers a 100% deposit bonus, which cannot be withdrawn.

Which is better for scalping?

Titan FX. It states that all strategies are allowed, including scalping, hedging and EAs, and its Blade account is ECN with raw spreads around 0.2 pips. XM Global allows scalping and EAs too, but has no raw-spread account.

Which is safer?

Neither has a top-tier licence. XM Global Limited holds a Belize FSC licence (8557558) and Titan FX Limited a Vanuatu FSC registration (40313). Both have negative balance protection: XM Global on all accounts, Titan FX through zero-cut.
