Short answer

AMarkets has three accounts: Standard ($100 initial deposit, no commission on FX and metals, spreads from 1.3 pips, MT4/MT5), ECN ($200, $2.5 per lot per side, from 0.2 pips, MT4/MT5) and Zero ($200, $5.5 per lot per side, from 0 pips, MT5 only). All three are USD-only, offer up to 3000:1, negative balance protection and an Islamic option. Stop-out is 20% on Standard and 40% on ECN and Zero. Most bonuses and cashback are for Standard only.

AMarkets trading cost: 1 lot of EUR/USD: Standard account $17, Raw / ECN account $8
What 1 lot of EUR/USD costs at AMarkets: $17 on the standard account, $8 on the raw account (spread plus round-trip commission). 1 pip = $10.
Margin level and stop-out. Margin level = equity ÷ used margin × 100. Stop-out 20%
AMarkets's stop-out level is 20%: when losses push the margin level down to it, positions are closed (example: equity $1,500 and used margin $1,000 give 150%).

All accounts trade from 0.01 lots in 0.01 steps, with prices to 5 decimal places, Monday 00:00 to Friday 23:55 EET. Beyond FX, each account offers 7 metals, 11 indices, 10 commodities, 400 stocks, 19 ETFs and 33 cryptocurrencies. AMarkets says Zero has zero spreads on majors and metals 90% of the time.

Commission is quoted per side for a 1-lot EUR/USD trade and charged when the position opens; AMarkets’ instrument pages show it as $5 (ECN) and $11 (Zero) per lot, i.e. the round-turn total. Standard accounts pay no commission on currency pairs and metals; other instruments have their own rates.

All-in cost on EUR/USD

Using AMarkets’ published average spreads on its EUR/USD page, with $10 per pip per lot:

Account Avg spread Commission (round turn) All-in, pips
Standard 1.7 pips $0 1.7
ECN 0.3 pips $5 0.8
Zero 0 pips $11 1.1

On EUR/USD, ECN is the cheapest and Zero sits between ECN and Standard. Zero’s appeal is a flat, predictable cost (spread near zero) rather than the lowest total. Per-instrument figures: AMarkets spreads.

Who each account suits

  • Standard: smaller accounts, bonus users and cashback collectors. The $100 minimum and lack of commission keep it simple; the 20% stop-out gives more room before positions are closed.
  • ECN: active traders and scalpers on MT4 or MT5 who want the lowest all-in cost. The 40% stop-out triggers earlier, so keep more free margin.
  • Zero: MT5 traders who want spreads near zero on majors and metals, for example for strategies sensitive to spread spikes, and accept the higher commission.

Things to know before choosing

  • Bonuses are Standard-only. The 100% deposit bonus and demo-profit transfer require a Standard account in USD on MT4: see AMarkets bonus.
  • Leverage falls with equity, from 3,000:1 under $1,000 down to 200:1 above $50,000, whatever the account: see AMarkets leverage.
  • No cent account. If you want to trade tiny sizes, compare cent account brokers.
