Forex Withdrawal Problems: Causes and Fixes
Most stuck withdrawals have an ordinary cause: incomplete verification, a request to a different method or someone else's account, the refund-to-source order (card first, then other methods), open positions using the margin, bonus terms, or bank and network delays. Check those first, then contact support in writing with your request ID. Silence after that is a warning sign.
Work through the causes in order
1. Verification isn’t finished
Brokers can’t pay out until your identity and address documents are approved. Check the client area for a pending or rejected document, and that your name matches exactly on the account, documents and payment method.
2. The method or account doesn’t match
Funds generally go back to the account they came from, in your name. Titan FX’s withdrawal page is typical: anti-money-laundering policies require refunds “back to the same account that you used to fund”, while profits above the original deposit can go by another method. Third-party accounts are refused.
3. Refund order
If you funded by card and e-wallet, the broker refunds each source in proportion or in a set order before releasing profits elsewhere. A withdrawal request to your bank may be split or redirected.
4. Margin in use
You can only withdraw free margin. If positions are open, the available amount is lower than your balance. See margin level and stop out.
5. Bonus terms
Withdrawing may remove bonus credit or require a minimum volume first. Read how bonuses work.
6. Untraded deposits
Some brokers charge or block withdrawals of deposits never traded. Titan FX charges a 4% fee if no trades are made on the account.
7. Bank, wallet or network delays
Processing by the broker and arrival at your end are different steps. Bank wires can take days; intermediary banks may hold or charge; crypto depends on network confirmations, and Titan FX says it reviews crypto withdrawals for up to 48 hours first.
Contacting support effectively
Write, don’t just chat. Include:
- account number and withdrawal request ID
- amount, method and date requested
- screenshots of the request status
Ask for the specific reason and what you need to do. Keep everything.
When it’s more than a delay
Repeated new document requests, sudden “tax” or “release fees” before payout, or support going silent are warning signs. Stop depositing, request the full balance in writing and, if the broker is licensed, contact the regulator. See why brokers reject withdrawals and how to spot a scam broker.
Choosing a broker with fewer problems

Frequently asked questions
How long should a forex withdrawal take?
Processing is often within a business day at established brokers. Titan FX, for example, says withdrawals are normally processed within one business day and bank wires take 2–3 business days to arrive. Arrival depends on your bank or payment provider.
Why was my withdrawal sent to my card instead of my bank?
Anti-money-laundering rules require refunds to the original source first, up to the amount deposited. Profits above that can go by another method.
Can I withdraw with open positions?
Usually, but only from free margin. Withdrawing can also remove bonus credit and lower your margin level, which may trigger a stop out.
My withdrawal is pending for a week. What should I do?
Check verification status and the method rules, then email support with your request ID and date. If the broker stops responding, stop depositing and escalate to its regulator.
