Best Forex VPS and Brokers With Free VPS
A forex VPS is a remote server that keeps MT4/MT5 and your EAs running 24/5 when your own computer is off. Pick one in or near your broker's server location for low latency, with enough memory for your terminals. Some brokers offer a free VPS if you meet deposit or volume conditions: FXGT runs a VPS sponsorship programme and Vantage lists a Forex VPS. Terms change, so read the broker's own page before relying on one.
What a VPS does
A virtual private server is a rented machine in a data centre. You log in remotely, install MT4/MT5, attach your EAs, and log out. The terminal keeps running even when your PC is off, your internet drops or you’re travelling.
When you need one
| Situation | VPS? |
|---|---|
| Manual trading | Rarely |
| EA that trades a few times a day | Helpful if your PC isn’t always on |
| EA that must react within seconds (scalping) | Yes, close to the broker |
| Several EAs or terminals | Yes, with enough memory |
How to choose
- Location. Find where your broker’s trade server is (support will tell you) and choose a VPS in the same city or data centre.
- Resources. Each MT terminal with a few charts uses some memory and CPU; size the plan for the number of terminals you’ll run.
- Operating system. MT4/MT5 run natively on Windows.
- Uptime and support. You want a provider that monitors and restarts servers.
- Cost vs benefit. A monthly fee only makes sense if your EA earns more than it costs. Run the maths.
Free VPS from brokers
Free VPS offers usually come with conditions such as a minimum balance or monthly lots, and the VPS may be withdrawn if you fall below them. Among the brokers we cover, FXGT sponsors a VPS (terms in its legal documents) and Vantage lists a Forex VPS in its menu; check the qualifying balance or volume before you count on it. The best brokers for EAs page compares EA conditions, such as Titan FX allowing all strategies including EAs.
Setting up
- Connect with Remote Desktop using the details the provider sends.
- Install MT4/MT5 from your broker and log in (MT5 guide).
- Install your EA (EA setup) and enable algo trading.
- Disconnect (don’t shut down) the remote session.
- Check the Experts and Journal tabs daily, or from the MT5 mobile app check that trades are still appearing.
Low latency helps, but it can’t fix a losing strategy, and scalping EAs also need a broker that allows them: see scalping brokers.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a VPS for forex?
Only if an EA has to run when your computer is off or offline. Manual traders rarely need one.
How close should the VPS be to my broker?
As close as practical. Brokers usually say where their trade servers are, often in major data centres in London, New York or Tokyo. Latency matters most for scalping EAs.
Which brokers offer a free VPS?
Several advertise one, usually with minimum deposit or monthly volume conditions. Among the brokers we cover, FXGT runs a VPS sponsorship programme and Vantage lists a Forex VPS; read the current terms on each broker's site.
Can I use the MetaTrader built-in VPS?
MetaQuotes offers a virtual hosting service through the terminal. It runs your EAs on a remote server, with limits on what it supports such as DLLs.
