Verdict

Hantec Markets is a straightforward, low-entry broker: $10 to start, three similar accounts, free funding, negative balance protection and an equity insurance policy. Leverage tops out at 500:1, lower than many offshore rivals, and there’s no bonus.

Good for: small accounts; traders who want negative balance protection and no funding fees; commission-free trading on the Global account.

Not for: bonus seekers; traders who want 1000:1 or more; residents of Japan, the US or the UAE.

Company and licence

From hmarkets.com’s footer: Hantec Markets Ltd is authorised and regulated as an Investment Dealer by the Financial Services Commission of Mauritius, licence C114013940. Hantec says the brand is regulated in six jurisdictions; those other companies serve their own regions and don’t cover an account opened on hmarkets.com.

The site isn’t aimed at residents of the United States, the UAE or Japan, and Hantec doesn’t serve Iran, Myanmar, North Korea or Russia. It also says it isn’t authorised by Brazil’s CVM.

What the Mauritius licence protects: a supervised Investment Dealer subject to FSC rules. What it doesn’t: EU or UK compensation schemes and leverage caps. See the FSC Mauritius guide and offshore vs regulated brokers.

Accounts and costs

Balance Guard (negative balance protection) Yes Yes Yes

Platforms: MT4, MT5, Hantec’s web trader and mobile app. The Cent account trades smaller lot sizes for reduced exposure. Hantec says “trading conditions can vary by symbol”, and it doesn’t publish average spreads on these pages.

Other costs from the charges page: opening and holding an account is free; a 0.6% currency conversion fee applies when a trade settles in a currency other than your account’s; and swaps apply overnight.

Funding and withdrawals

From the funding page: free deposits and withdrawals (no broker processing fees), instant deposits, and withdrawals “processed in as little as 5 minutes”. Methods include bank or wire transfers and cards; the full list isn’t on the public page.

Bonus

We found no deposit or sign-up bonus on hmarkets.com. Hantec’s incentives are structural: Balance Guard and insurance.

Safety features

  • Balance Guard: free negative balance protection on Global, Pro and Cent individual accounts, applied automatically
  • Equity insurance up to $500,000, which Hantec says doesn’t cover trading losses
  • Segregated client funds, per its funding page

Risks and open questions

  • Average spreads and the exact commission per instrument
  • Withdrawal arrival times by method
  • The insurance policy’s terms (insurer, eligible events)
  • The FSC Mauritius register entry (we relied on Hantec’s footer)

Bottom line

Hantec Markets is a sensible low-cost pick for small accounts that value negative balance protection over high leverage or bonuses. Check that your client agreement names Hantec Markets Ltd.

Keep the safety extras in proportion. Balance Guard stops your balance going below zero, and the equity insurance, Hantec says, doesn’t cover trading losses; we couldn’t read which events it does cover. Neither turns an FSC Mauritius account into a tier-1 regulated one: there’s no compensation scheme of the kind UK or EU clients have, so start with a small deposit and test a withdrawal.

On costs, Global, Pro and Cent all quote spreads from 0.1 pips, and the commission is what separates them. Before choosing, open the contract specification for the pairs you trade and add the round-trip commission, converted into pips, to the live spread. Our pip calculator does the conversion. For small or occasional trading, the commission-free Global account is usually the simplest choice.

Compare: zero-cut brokers, low-deposit brokers.
